About Tarboy
Created by James Lee and Hania Lee, the short animated film ‘Tarboy’ was completed at the end of 2007 as part of Jame’s Honours Assessment at Griffith University.
In 2008, Tarboy screened at several internation Film festivals such Siggraph and QNFA. Tarboy won Best Animation, Most Original Script, Best Tertiary Film and Best Overall Film and the Queensland new Filmmaker Awards.
In 2009, Tarboy was released online on Newgrounds.com, and then to other portals such as youtube and Deviantart. On Newgrounds it has been sitting in the top 10 films of all time for the last year and has had over 1,000,000 views.
Due to it’s success on Newgrounds, Tarboy was awarded Film of the Year and for her musical work on the film, Hania Lee was awarded Musician of the Year.
About James Lee
Completing his Bachelor of Animation at Griffith University and graduating in 2006, James spent another year at University to further his study and complete his Honours in 2007. He has since been working as a Freelance Artist, creating animated advertisements for television as well as illustrative and animated works for the Australia Government and various other clients all around the world.
